Scenes From A Spring Day in Winter

Kicked back in the warm sunshine and snacked on a picnic of rainbow chard veggie wraps, cherries/grapes/clementines, veggie quiche, and chased it all down with freshly-pressed beet juice. Hiked 3 miles in shaded hilly woods and breezy open grasslands where we came close to kidnapping Domino, a sweet hound with the coolest coloring we'd ever seen. Couldn't have asked for a more dreamy day to celebrate the birth of the wonderfulness that is our Shoshi.

That Jukebox in the Corner

This is the only song I can karaoke without having to look at the lyrics. Oh! And Missy Elliot's "Get Ur Freak On;" I'd almost forgot about that one. I really like this softer-paced remix. Haven't heard many twists on this beloved classic. Am psyched to listen in on the treasure trove of Thin Lizzy recordings that were stashed for 26 years and are scheduled to be released as a boxed set later this year. Love you, Phil.

Kickstart His Heart

 
As a fan, I've given Chris a shout out on H.H.A.S. several times over the years. Now, through Kickstarter, he's looking to independently publish a book of his illustrations. Seeing that he's a little more than halfway to reaching his goal (deadline: January 18), I'll soon be able to reach for my own copy of what's sure to be a cool collection of drawings. Happened upon the trailer for "Girl Walk // All Day" tonight. It's the feature-length dance video with choreography matched to the most recent Girl Talk. Pure. Joy. Anne Marsen makes me smile big time. I dig her dancing and her story. And Dai "The Gentleman" Omiya is really nice to look at/watch dance. You can watch the film in segments, starting with this clip. When the Black Sabbath kicked in I was covered in goosebumps. Each week a new chapter is released online—right now it's only on four. Five should be released on Tuesday.
