The pages of Julia Chapman's new book, Gypset Style, is a seductive celebration of gypsy/jetset lifestyles and features this breathtaking dress by Nathalie and Sophie Laurence Mignot—French sisters who split their time between Santa Barbara and Sayulita, Mexico. I have never wanted a dress more in my life. I spent several hours online searching for it and found nothing. Crushed. Yesterday I emailed Chapman and asked for her help. Today, my heart was racing when I heard back. "The Mexican embroidered dresses are amazing. They look even better on. Contact the Mignot sisters either on their website or by phone (number removed). If you dont get an immediate response keep trying as they are often sailing and surfing and not near the phone." I checked the site and was once again crushed—it's priced at a pretty fortune. If only. Know of a similarly styled dress that fits a recessionista's barely-there budget? Talk to me. Please.
