Swing by The Texas Theatre tonight (Tuesday, December 6) from 8–10 for the fourth installment of the Tuesday Night Record Club—an informal and friendly gathering of folks lounging in the upstairs area, listening to two complete vinyl recordings guest-selected by friends (one album a piece) of the theatre. Not sure what's on the music agenda this month/tonight but I loved last month's playlist of Champion Jack Dupree (so good) and Cheap Trick. In October it was Bad Brains and Guided by Voices. Can't make it tonight? This happens the first Tuesday of every month. The organizers (Stuart Sikes and Brian McKay) haven't really promoted any of these events and have kept it a quiet word-of-mouth so it maintains an intimate setting. Since only "Sleepyhead" and a few others* read my blog regularly, I figured a shoutout wouldn't put a dent in the cozy cluster of regulars.
*This total does not take into a account the 100+ hits a day this site gets from people searching for Hunter wellies. Ridiculous.
